Richard A. Sulzman
For more than 30 years, Richard Sulzman has dedicated his career to helping clients who were injured in an accident or whose rights were violated. Advocating for justice and fair compensation for his clients is not just his profession. It is his passion and life’s work.
Richard was raised in a lower-middle-class family where both of his parents worked tirelessly to make ends meet. His father, who grew up in poverty, instilled in him values that continue to guide his life and career today– never judge others based on their religion, race, or socioeconomic status. His father lived by the principle that "everybody counts, or nobody counts," a belief that shaped Richard’s approach to both people and the practice of law. He understands that behind every case is a person whose life has been disrupted, and he takes that responsibility seriously.
An injury can be physically, emotionally, and financially devastating. Most people feel overwhelmed by the litigation process, unsure of what to do and worried about how long it will take. Richard guides them through each stage of their case, giving them his full attention. He makes it a priority to be available to clients not just during business hours, but whenever they need reassurance or have questions. His clients have direct access to him, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, because he believes communication and trust are essential to achieving the positive outcome clients want.
His dedication to clients continues the values of the Jay H. Tanenbaum Law Firm. Richard was Managing Attorney of the firm for 21 years and took over the practice after Jay’s passing.
Richard draws on his extensive skills as a litigator, negotiator, and certified New York Supreme Court Mediator to resolve cases efficiently, while delivering the best results possible for his clients.
Becoming a lawyer was a childhood dream for Richard. Today, he continues to show his love for the law by mentoring newly admitted attorneys so they can learn how to be great advocates.
